FINDING THE RIGHT DIGITAL CAMERA
Whether you’re a snap-happy user or an experienced photographer, this guide will take you step by step through the different options available to help you find the right camera to suit your needs! In fact, there's a whole range of cameras to choose from, such as Canon cameras, Nikon cameras and Pentax cameras.

Putting technology in your pocket
Many users opt for compact digital cameras. A compact camera can fit easily into a bag or pocket, meaning you can take it with you everywhere you go and whip it out whenever the mood strikes! This type of digital camera is ideal for snapping all those special moments as they happen.

Ultra compact cameras, as their name suggests, are small and lightweight, so they're ideal for photographers who are often on the move and don't want to be weighed down by a bulky camera.

Bridging the gap
Bridge cameras are halfway between compact digital cameras and SLR cameras. Like compact cameras, they have a non-interchangeable lens and a screen on the back that can magnify shots by up to 20x (a feature often referred to as the "super-zoom"). These types of camera can be used easily by photographers of all levels.

Taking photography further
With user-friendly settings, digital SLR cameras have an optical viewfinder and interchangeable lenses to suit different shooting situations, from landscapes to sporting events, giving you even more options when it comes to photography. They have a greater battery life than compact and bridge cameras – in fact, they can take up to 800 photos on a single charge.

Memories to treasure forever
Only a few cameras come with an internal memory, and this is usually fairly small. Photo files can reach several megabytes in size. It's worth bearing in mind that a 4 GB memory card can store about 1,000 photos on an 8-megapixel camera, or 900 photos on a 10-megapixel camera.
